DIY Abstract Art and other news

Hi friends,

I had a great day today spending Canada Day with the family. It was so nice to just chill out and relax. We took some photos with the 'good camera' of the diy abstract art I made over the weekend. It was a fun project as I did one canvas and my kiddos did the other one. The canvases were made from re-cycled store bought art that I no longer liked. Earlier, I had painted them white with left over house paint and they were good to go!

Here is how my turned out:

A Picasso, I am not. But I liked how it turned out and will hang it my basement with my other art projects.

We've hung the canvas my kiddos painted in my older son's room and hope to get photos soon (long story but the Ikea frames we bought for my older son's vintage race car posters spontaneously collapsed a few weeks ago. Has this ever happened to anyone else? We are going to try to take them back but in the meantime it is nice to have some home made art decorating his bare walls).

I also wanted to share with you this picture of my hydrangeas that are coming out:
These are about the only thing that can survive in my shady, overgrown garden. With all the rain we've been getting, they are thriving.

I leave you with this amusing item - how to store and organize your cats ;)

Thanks for stopping by!
