Kitchen Cabinet Do's and Don'ts

Hi friends,

I'm back with another installment of Do's and Don'ts. Today's topic is kitchen cabinets and boy do I have a lot of thoughts on this topic! Please DO disagree though if you feel differently. The more perspectives the better.

First up, DON'T turn your kitchen into a bowling alley by filling narrow kitchen with as many cabinets as possible like this

DO select a cabinet arrangement that makes your kitchen appear bigger and more open (note how this lovely example limits the cabinets to one side, uses light colors on top, and uses oversized glass doors and transoms to lighten and brighten)

DON'T make your upper cabinets too small for the space

DO take your cabinets all the up to the ceiling if you can (what do people do with that space on top of cabinets anyway?)

DON'T create the 'great wall of cabinets' by not mixing in open or glass cabinets

DO make your kitchen an inviting mix of aesthetically pleasing organization like this:

DON'T go too trendy or extreme with your cabinets like this (kitchen cabinets are timely to re-paint and are expensive to replace)

DO use accessories to add color and trends to your kitchen like this

Well that wraps it up for today's do's and don'ts. What do you think? Any you'd disagree with? Any ones you believe should be added to the list? Please DO let me know :)

I leave you today with this amusing item:

Thanks for stopping by!
