Only a few more sleeps until the big guy comes. It's going to be magical! And then it's onto New Years Eve festivities. We are hosting this year and I have visions of vintage barware in my head. If I had time and space I would so get a vintage barcart.
To get the party started, I'm sharing my favorite bar items from Etsy.
Are you ready for the holidays? Here at Casa Marshall, things are pretty much there. We have the tree up and for the most part gifts have been purchased and cards have been sent. I still have a few little things to take care of and I am sure me and the million other people in Toronto doing the same thing will have a joyous weekend getting it all done :)
In the meantime, I have the final installment of the Holiday Do's and Don'ts posts to share. Today it's all about gifting. Things to buy and things that shouldn't even be sold. All in good fun of course. Have you ever received anything that someone really shouldn't have gotten you? Please do share your don'ts. I am sure there are some good ones out there.
First up, DON'T give edible petroleum products like this:
DO give homemade cookies to your friends and family like these yummies:
Yes - its true. We all survived yet another Monday. Now onto Tuesday. Although, I still have a few small items to finish up for Christmas (holiday cards, presents...etc) I am moving on to New Year's Eve planning. Cuz that's how I roll. We are having a few close friends over to celebrate and I have visions of bubbly and pretty champagne glasses in my head. Scratch that - there will be 8 kiddos in the mix. Plastic cups and gingerale for all. But I love to dream so I've pulled together some lovely options thanks to my good friends at Polyvore. Which is seriously one of my favorite web apps ever.
Hope you all had an amazing weekend. It was hectic around here. Hockey, swimming, and a bday party. I did manage to catch up on a few holiday items but still lots to go.
Today, I have a quick idea board that I pulled together for a Polyvore contest to share. It's Hollywood Glam meets real life. Since most of us live in the real world, the suburban world, this is my interpretation of how this gorgeous style might work in a family room.
What do you think? Too glitzy for kids? I am loving all the retro gold and barware that I've been seeing around the blogosphere and feel inspired to bring some of it to Casa Marshall. Maybe at least for New Years to ring in the New Year in style.
Apologies for being away for a few days things have been hectic around here. I still have holiday cards left to do. And presents to wrap. Eek...will I do it all? I think there are going to be some late nights involved.
We got our tree tonight. The plan is to decorate tomorrow night. This year I've purchased plastic ornaments so we don't have a repeat of last year when some of my favorite vintage bulbs bit the dust. It happens. Especially with kids. Lesson learned.
Anyways....I pulled together a pinkalicious collection of Etsy Christmas items. If I didn't live in a house of three boys that have banned pink, I'd totally do a pink Christmas. So pretty.
