Christmas Gift Do's and Don'ts

Hi friends,

Are you ready for the holidays? Here at Casa Marshall, things are pretty much there. We have the tree up and for the most part gifts have been purchased and cards have been sent. I still have a few little things to take care of and I am sure me and the million other people in Toronto doing the same thing will have a joyous weekend getting it all done :)

In the meantime, I have the final installment of the Holiday Do's and Don'ts posts to share. Today it's all about gifting. Things to buy and things that shouldn't even be sold. All in good fun of course. Have you ever received anything that someone really shouldn't have gotten you? Please do share your don'ts. I am sure there are some good ones out there.

First up, DON'T give edible petroleum products like this:

DO give homemade cookies to your friends and family like these yummies:
DON'T give Christmas sweaters as gifts

Would you wear this? I hope not ;)

DO shop at stores with good return policies and buy chic items like this:
Love, love, love this coat. It has me written all over it. Although, I would skip the bedazzled hat.

DON'T give anything that sings as a gift:

DO give beautiful household items like this stylish terrarium:

DON'T gift cartoonish jewelry like this:

DO select tasteful accent pieces  (diamonds are always good too if my husband is reading this ;)

And those are my thoughts on gifting. Please do let us know yours.

I leave you today with this amusing item:

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I will probably add "don't hand deliver a personal cheque as gift". :) Merry Christmas Charlotte! All the best in 2014.

    1. Thanks Michelle! That is a big Don't! Merry Christmas to you too! And a joyous New Year :)

Comments make my day :)
