Holiday Decorating Do's and Don'ts

Hi friends,

Hope you've all had an amazing weekend and Thanksgiving celebration for my American friends.

I'm back today with another installment of Holiday Do's and Don'ts. I've rounded up some gorgeous inspiration and some examples of seasonal please don'ts. All in jest of course - feel free to disagree and educate - or agree and out your friends and family. It's all for the greater good and merriment.

First up, DON'T go to town with the tinsel like this:

DO use simple garlands to kick things up a notch

DON'T dress your toilet up for the holidays

Does this really happen? It is wrong on many levels.

DO use greenery throughout the house to liven things up and add some festiveness

DON'T select tacky ornaments like these

DO use stylish ornaments to create a chic holiday vignette like this:

DON'T overdo it. A running theme in these Do's and Don't posts but really, a little goes a long way.
I'm guessing these decor items stay up all year round ;)

DO use modern hints of holiday to create a bright, clean look

And that concludes today's thoughts on holiday do's and don'ts. Any that were missed? Do tell :)

I leave you today with this amusing item:
Festive cats.
Thanks for stopping by :)

  1. WHERE can I get one of those santa toilet costumes?! I totally need one. Nothing like crapping on santa's face to you get in the mood for the holidays!
