Front Porch Hallowe'en Decorations

Hi friends,

So today was epic turkey day. Cooking, cooking, and more cooking followed by overeating and cleaning. Overall, I'd declare it a success though. The turkey came out really nice with a golden tan and moist meat and the sides were warm and tasty.

Also - I must add that my husband and I saw Gone Girl this weekend. It was not what I thought it would be! I don't want to give to away too much. Have you so seen it? I would recommend seeing it - It's not the best movie ever but it does get you thinking and it has some fun plot twists. Full disclosure: I am a big fan of Ben Affleck so that helps too.

As I mentioned yesterday, I also 'Hallowe'en ified our front porch this weekend. The fall mums I had assembled in late August (shown in this post) had died and it was time to change things up. Our trip to the pumpkin patch provided inexpensive pumpkins that were perfect for the front porch. The mix of pumpkin types felt very Martha :)

Here are some pics:

I added the mums and cabbages to pretty it up. The Hallowe'en wreath was a $4 find from Loblaws last year. My son had the idea to hook it from the light. It has a rather spooky look to it that I like. November 1st it comes down though!

I leave you today with this amusing item:

What is it you ask? Why it's a chicken sweater. You never know when you're going to need one of these. Instructions for getting it on the chicken are unfortunately not included at this time ;)

Thanks for stopping by :)
