So I have more details to share on our plans to travel to Boston. It's going to be a road trip and it will be a 9 - 10 hour drive from Toronto. We'll have two active boys in the backseat so the plan is to split the trip into two segments.
Stage 1 - Get up early and drive from Toronto to Virgil, NY (4 hours and 45 minutes)
I've booked us in at Greek Peak Mountain Resort. They have a water park where the kiddos can burn off some energy. We'll spend the afternoon and night there and head off early the next morning
Stage 2 - Get up early and drive to Boston planning to arrive by 11ish
Then the fun really begins.
Check into hotel and park car. We've booked the Kimpton Nine Zero Hotel in the Back Bay
Start walking the Freedom Trail. Stop and enjoy the sights along the way including Faneuil Hall
Continue on Freedom Trail all the way to the Charles Bridge. Grab light lunch.
Dinner at 4pm at the Barking Crab. Yummy yummy crab rolls will be had by all.
Harvard - I've read that the campus is spectacular to look at and the book store has a kids section. It's on. And we'll grab breakfast / lunch there too.
In the afternoon, Shopping in Beacon Hill for me. Perhaps the Aquarium, Boston Common or the Boston Tea Party Re-enactment for the boys.
Then we are headed home. Ideally, we would stop in Stockbridge, MA and stay at the Red Lion Inn but it's often busy. We'll drive half way to Stockbridge, stay over, browse the shops, and then finish the drive in the afternoon.
More plans to follow :)
Thanks for stopping by!
